U.S. President Donald Trump made an unequivocal statement in an interview with the New York Post: American forces in the region are preparing for the worst-case scenario. U.S. ships are being loaded with the best ammunition and weaponry—in case negotiations with Iran reach a deadlock.
“We are reloading. We are loading the ships with the best ammunition, the best weapons ever created—even better than what we used before. If the deal doesn't happen, we will use them. And we will use them very effectively,” Trump stated.
The American president has given himself approximately 24 hours...to determine whether the negotiations with Iran are successful. Once again, the clock is ticking.
At the same time, Trump openly expressed his distrust of the Iranian side. According to him, it’s unclear with the Iranians—whether they are telling the truth or not. Tehran first promises to get rid of all nuclear materials, only to then go before the press and claim the exact opposite.
“They first promise to get rid of all nuclear materials, and then they go to the press and say, ‘No, we’d like to do uranium enrichment,’” the president emphasized.
Nevertheless, the diplomatic window remains open. Negotiations between the U.S. and Iranian delegations are scheduled for tomorrow in Pakistan. This marks the first high-level direct contact between the parties—and, judging by Trump’s words, it may be Tehran’s last chance to avoid a strike.
The picture is crystal clear: the U.S. is talking and preparing for war at the same time. Diplomats are flying to Pakistan while ships are loading ammunition. Iran must choose which scenario it prefers—and do so within twenty-four hours.
